In my recent quest to go clutter free, I was wondering what to do with all of my scrap-booking stuff. Needless to say, I still have it neatly stashed away in my closet.
I was into the scrapping thing about 6 years ago and actually made 3 complete books. Now, I am NOT a crafty person AT ALL, so it was a big deal to make these books. I must say, they came out quite well.
I purchased a rolling bag, books, paper, cutters, stickers, embellishments, etc. and actually spent quite a bit of money. After spending months on scrapping, something happened and I became uninterested and burnt out. Plus it was a lot of stuff to DRAG around. That was the end of my scrapping career.
Recently, I was watching TV and a commercial that caught my eye was for “Mixbook”.Mixbook is a FREE online program for digital scrap-booking. I thought, WOW I have to check this out. I went online and started building a book for our trip to Alaskaand it was simple to use. It’s like the paper version of scrap-booking, but without the paper. As soon as I was done creating the Alaska book, I ordered the finished product. The book came back to me very quickly and was GORGEOUS! It actually looks like a story book with a hard cover. The quality is UNBELIEVABLE. I am now creating a scrapbook for our 2010 trip to Hawaii. What I like about this software is that when I create a book, there is an option to “share” the book with others so they can contribute as well.
In searching online a little more, I ran across ANOTHER software that I purchased for under $30 called My Memories Suite.
Online scrapping is just like paper scrapping, but again NO MESS, NO CLUTTER! Background papers and embellishments are included, AND you can still crop, and apply different shapes and mats. You can still be as creative as you want and still capture all of your memories.
Perhaps I’ll start a “once a month” digital scrap-booking party at my house, where everyone brings their laptops instead of their scrapping materials. Easy and NO MESS! Interested?
If you made the switch to digital scrap-booking, and even if you didn’t quite yet, leave a comment below!
I hate to admit it, but I actually own beautiful rabbit and fox furs. They are buried somewhere in my closet, and I plan to keep them there.
Currently, I enjoy wearing each of my two faux fur coats that look like bear-skin and leopard, and they are warm and fashionable. They look exactly like the real deal and I always get compliments.
Not only COATS are made from animal products, but some DESIGNER HANDBAGS are STILL made out of materials like leather, suede, snake skin, reptile skin and other exotic animal skins.
Did you know that Miche Bags are Animal Friendly? If you’ve never heard of a Miche Bag, you are in for a REAL treat! A Miche Bag is a base designer handbag with a BEAUTIFUL outside cover or SHELL that can be swapped with other shells to match with your outfits. Rather than moving contents from one purse to another, just change the look. Miche Designer handbags are a convenient alternative to a closet full of purses.
Miche bags look similar to actual animal skin, however a Miche Bag is created of a silk/polyester blend. The Miche Bag shell material varies, depending on the style. All Miche products are made from 100% MAN MADE materials such as faux leather, faux crocodile skin, faux cheetah fur, regular nylon, textured nylon, canvas, or cotton, and are animal friendly, AND they come in BEAUTIFUL colors!

The evening had been planned for weeks! Even though there was a chill in the air, they bundled up in warm coats and drove to their special place for a romantic night on the town. He sported a black tuxedo complete with bow tie, while she wore a long, elegant, satin and lace, plum colored gown with matching satin gloves.
When they arrived, the ambiance was magical. Their special place, by the lake, was surrounded by candles that flickered all night long. Soft music played in the background while they shared a couple of slow dances. An elegant dinner was served and they relished in every delectable bite.
He offered a heartfelt toast. The crystal glasses chimed together like Christmas bells.
The mood was a bit nostalgic as they glanced at old photos remembering good times they had shared.
It was truly a perfect evening. Romance filled the air. They adored each other and felt like the only two people in the world as they intensely gazed into each other’s eyes.
Finally, after hours of anticipation, that special moment arose. It was time. He got down on one knee and:

I think I like “Ashton” the best because of it’s teal like color. Which one is your favorite?
If you remember my last nail polish posting, I talked about a quick drying nail polish. It was great stuff, but still had fumes.
After years of searching, I FINALLY found a NON-TOXIC Nail polish from HoneyBee Gardens. I am very sensitive to toxins especially when it comes to Nail Polish. Recently I had an appointment to get my nails done, but when I walked into the place I had to immediately LEAVE! I couldn’t handle all of the chemical smells. Usually as soon as I smell something toxic, it gives me a headache.
This stuff is FANTASTIC! It has absolutely no smell! My only issue was with the nail polish remover. See more in my video below.
I truly wish that there was a nearby salon that offered non-toxic services. I think I would be the first customer.
Do you use Honeybee Gardens Nail Polish? If so, do you like it or is there a better one out there that’s non-toxic?
When we returned from vacation, I spent 3 days going through our entire house and could not believe some of the OLD stuff I found. I immediately donated 10 -15 large boxes of STUFF that was hiding in our closets, cabinets, drawers, and pantry! What an undertaking!
I also donated more than 100 clothing items, which was difficult, but it HAD TO BE DONE! Some of this stuff actually came with me from California in 1993! I don’t know why I kept it for so long. Out of sight, out of mind perhaps. So far, Mark has made at least 5 trips to the Goodwill.
For a quick laugh, watch the video below. By the way, my tap dancing skills suck!

Is Your Home “Clutter Free”? I thought mine was, until I took a good hard look into what lurked behind the closet doors. It was NOT PRETTY! Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely organized, it’s just that I organized a lot of “STUFF” that I no longer needed. Some of this “STUFF” I haven’t looked at in 20 years!
I actually started the “clear the clutter” process a couple of years ago when I transferred all of my home videos from VHS and Camcorder tapes to my hard drive on my computer. That was QUITE a process and took a while.
We recently SOLD our record albums. They were in a HUGE container taking up half of a closet. We discovered a place in Seattle that purchased USED record albums. Getting rid of the albums reduced some of the clutter, but we still had a ways to go.
In an attempt to clear MORE CLUTTER, we donated most of our paper books and switched to eBooks. While vacationing inCannon Beach, I read an eBook called “Live More Want Less” which completely inspired me to remove the rest of the clutter in our house! What a fantastic book. I highly recommend it. It’s LIFE changing!
I warned Mark that when we returned home, I was going to survey the entire house to figure out WHAT ELSE we could remove. I don’t think he believed me. He DOES NOW! I’m not sure he wants to ever go on vacation with me again though! LOL
Check out the Reyna Demi Miche Bag. It’s so shiny and stunning that you actually NEED to see this one LIVE. It’s a fabulous purse purse to take a holiday gathering or any other gathering for that matter! You will be the hit of your party. Reyna also comes in matching coin purse! BEAUTIFUL!
I recently went to Cannon Beach with my Reyna Demi Miche Bag and coin purse, you can watch me showing them off in the short video below.
Are you a Big Doris Day fan like I am? Speaking of Doris Day, did you hear the good news? Doris Day has a new album, just in time for the Holidays!
Recently on our cruise, we were lucky enough to have a TV in our cabin. We watched a couple of movies and one of them was Pillow Talk with Doris Day and Rock Hudson and the BEST MOVIE EVER. After watching that, we became HOOKED on Doris Day. In fact, when we got back home, we watched many of her movies. She has worked with all the top leading men…WHAT A LUCKY GAL! Besides Rock Hudson, she has also worked with Cary Grant, Brian Keith, and Frank Sinatra, to name a few.
Not only did Doris Day have a shining personality, gorgeous smile, and cute figure, but she had the BEST fashion sense EVER. She was QUITE the Fashionista. She always wore the most beautiful dresses as well as stylish matching hats and gloves. Who doesn’t love hats and gloves?
My mother used to wear a lot of the Doris Day fashions, and has ALWAYS been and STILL IS a true Fashionista, as was my Grandmother. I wish I had their fashion sense.
Have you seen the new Pan Am show? The Stewardess fashions were always so glamorous, weren’t they?
Before I was born, My Mother was going to become a Stewardess and completed the full Stewardess training. She was hired, and the airline mailed her the plane tickets to come and TRAVEL THE WORLD. She opted to marry my Dad instead and stayed home. If she would have become a Stewardess, I would not be here writing this post…so THANKS MOM for marrying Dad and having me!
Secretly, I think she still wonders what itwould have been like to travel the world. Que Sera, Sera…
